Samantha Arellano is an 18 year old student at Pasadena City College. Samantha is an academic learner who values the importance of empathy, engagement, and critical thinking. Samantha sees learning as not only an intellectual process but a personal process, using writing, literature, and discussions to better understand her knowledge of human experiences. Samantha is drawn to history because they allow her to analyze why and how something happened and allows her to see from the overlooked perspectives.

As a student, Samantha strives when it comes to connecting academic material to real world issue. Often asking questions about “what,” “why,” and “how” to make the world a better place. Samantha believes learning is most impactful when you question authority and encourage personal and educational growth. Guided by love, compassion, and understanding. Samantha focuses on using education as a tool for positive change and a better understanding.
